Upgrade old Windows versions with a practical note taker(Windows XP, Vista, 7)

Windows 7 has a handy tool on board that can hold small notes quickly: Sticky Notes. On your older PC with Windows XP and Vista, you miss this everyday helper.
Upgrade older Windows versions with the free tool ‘Stickies 7.1a’ from the site www.zhornsoftware.co.uk/stickies. This adds the digital sticky notes feature to any PC running Windows 98, 98SE, ME, 2000, XP, Vista and 7. With versions older than Windows 2000 it however works with only limited functions.
CREATING NOTES: After the app is installed, its icon appears in the notifi cation area on right side of the task bar. Right click on it to open a menu with all available commands. Create a new note with ‘New Sticky’. A new note opens and remains on the desktop. The cursor is positioned in the notepad, so that you can immediately start typing. To format the note, mark the desired text and right click on it. In the following context menu you can change the font style and size as well as the paragraph formatting.
USE UPGRADED MODE: This tool also off ers more functions than the Windows 7’s own Sticky Notes tool. With a right click on the title bar of a note you can access its options. With ‘Set Title’ you can type in a new title for the note. ‘Rolled Up’ hides the actual note, so that only the title bar remains on the desktop. The opposite instruction in addition is ‘Unrolled’. With ‘Sleep’ you can hide the note for certain duration, and the ‘Alarm’ can remind you of the note at any particular time that you set. If the note is no longer needed, simply click on the cross on title bar to close it.
NOTE: Through the context menu of the system tray icon you can click ‘manage Stickies’ to open a small window which lists all visible, invisible, active and closed notes in a simple view.
